Moldavite was not born on earth like other stones: it is the product of a meteorite impact nearly 15 million years ago in southern Germany, at the site of today's Nördlinger Ries crater. The molten rock was hurled into the atmosphere before falling back as green glass over Bohemia and Moravia, where it is still collected today. Lithotherapy has made it a stone of transformation and awakening, associated with the crown chakra and renowned for its intensity.
