Lecher antennas selling for a few thousand rupees, “golden” models that are golden in name only: the European market is filling up with them. Before giving in to the price, I invite you to come back to what makes an instrument worthy of the name, namely electrical continuity and tuning to a frequency, and to check all of this for yourself.

An instrument born in a laboratory

It is worth remembering where the object we hold in our hands comes from. Around 1888, the Austrian physicist Ernst Lecher stretched two parallel wires to measure the wavelength of radio waves; his lines served as frequency meters until after the Second World War. The dowser’s Lecher antenna descends from that apparatus, and this lineage carries a requirement that is all too easily forgotten: a resonance instrument only makes sense if current actually flows through it.

It is to this point that I would like to draw your attention, because the market is changing fast. The Lecher antenna enjoys considerable success in India, carried by Vastu and the measurement of geopathic stress, and models made there are now arriving in large numbers in European online shops. On a major Indian marketplace, I found antennas listed at 2,200 or 3,000 rupees, that is, less than thirty euros at the current exchange rate, one of them advertised as plastic. The price is tempting. The question is what you are actually buying.

What the price does not tell you

Many of these copies borrow a familiar silhouette, with arms that fold on a hinge, and the eye is easily taken in. Yet open the product page, read the materials, then pick up a multimeter: in many cases, the electrical continuity between the hand, the arm, the wire and the shunt simply does not exist. A loosely tightened joint, an unspecified alloy, an insulating coating, and the circuit is broken. The object looks like a Lecher antenna; it no longer has the nature of one.

Then comes the fashion for so-called “golden” antennas. The word describes a colour, rarely a composition, and among the listings I examined, not one specified a precious metal. I do not claim to know every model sold on the web, but I hold it as a rule of prudence to ask the seller about the exact nature of the conductive parts before paying anything at all. A serious seller answers. The others promise the moon and keep quiet about the brass.

The two conditions of a true Lecher antenna

In my view, two criteria are enough to tell an instrument from a trinket. The first is electrical continuity, hand, arm, wire, shunt, wire, arm, which anyone can check with a multimeter in a few seconds. The second is direct programming by frequency: like a radio you tune to “Radio Hartmann” or “Radio Water” so as to hear only that station, the antenna must lock onto a precise wavelength, free of interference.

At VED-DISTRI, which I founded in 2009 in Saint-Hippolyte, we turned these two conditions into a deliberate manufacturing choice. The EDD® Lecher Antenna insulates the ends of the wires and forces the current to pass through the shunt, which eliminates the rear loop; this is our own reading, openly acknowledged as such, of a clearer signal on the programmed frequency. I told the story of how it came about in the article The Lecher Antenna Wars: It All Comes Down to the Rear Loop, where I also describe the refinements brought by four successive generations: standardised brass, a brass contact ring, knurled locking nuts.

The Saint-Hippolyte workshop, piece by piece

An antenna is judged in the hand before it is judged by what is said about it. The EDD® LECHER ANTENNA in colour – Made in France weighs about 115 grams, its arms are solid, chosen for their conductivity, and it is designed and assembled in our own workshop, at the foot of the Alsatian Vosges. It comes with its massette, its cable, a getting-started manual, a carrying pouch, and a three-hour Zoom training session to help you start off on the right foot. I would rather a beginner leave that morning knowing how to check their instrument than taking my word for whatever I tell them.

For those who love the look of yesteryear without giving up on this standard, the RETRO LECHER ANTENNA with magnetic rod and hollow arms broadens the range: the Lecher RETRO® Antenna likewise keeps the elimination of the rear loop and the continuity between arm, wire and shunt. Several finishes are available, from wood to red, and here the choice is a matter of taste, not of physics.

For the practitioner, the frequency makes the instrument

The experienced practitioner knows that a faithful antenna is not enough; one still has to know what to tune it to. The FREQUENCY DIRECTORY for the EDD and ASCLEPIOS Lecher Antennas, in its 2026 edition, brings together 351 frequencies, from geobiology work to energy healing, and it is this directory that turns the instrument into a research tool. On a copy without continuity, it would be of no use at all: you cannot tune a radio whose antenna is unplugged.

Before any purchase, and even if you already own an antenna, watch the short video Test the Conductivity of Your Lecher Antenna. In it I show you how energies flow through the instrument and how to check this for yourself. The sequence Lecher SCHOOL – Lecher Antenna Training: Energy Flows takes this demonstration further for anyone who wants to understand the path of the current through the EDD® Lecher Antenna.

Choosing with full knowledge

I do not blame anyone for looking for the best price. I only ask that we compare like with like: an object at thirty euros whose conductivity nobody guarantees, and an instrument in which every contact can be checked. More than thirty years of practice in energy-based approaches have taught me that trust in a tool is built by putting it to the test, never by looking at the photograph on a product page.

If you are still hesitating, come and see for yourself. LecherSCHOOL regularly offers a beginner training course on Zoom, on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, in French, with the next sessions on 21 November and 5 December 2026; you can also join us in person in Saint-Hippolyte. Bring your antenna, whatever it may be, and your multimeter. We will run the test together.

Dowsing and energy healing are complementary practices: they replace neither medical advice nor medical treatment.
