The RETRO® Lecher Antenna

the faithful echo of a Viennese discovery

Some instruments carry within them the memory of an original gesture, and the RETRO® Lecher antenna belongs to this rare lineage. Its principle draws directly on the work of Ernst Lecher, the Viennese physicist who in 1888 demonstrated the phenomenon of standing waves on parallel lines, a discovery that would, much later, give rise to the vibrational use we know today. 

Choosing the RETRO® today means reconnecting, for the length of a practice session, with the gesture as it was originally conceived, in the days of the massive German Lecher antennas. There is a kind of almost filial loyalty in handling an instrument whose silhouette recalls the very first devices, as one might choose, out of attachment as much as curiosity, to drive a car from another age, not out of idle nostalgia, but to feel, in the hand and in the gesture, what the original experience was like.

Every RETRO® antenna meets the two conditions without which no instrument deserves the name of Lecher antenna: real, verifiable electrical continuity between the arms, the wire and the bridge, and no verbalisation whatsoever in the search: only the frequency, accurately programmed, guides the practitioner's hand.

The RETRO® revives the spirit of the instruments that marked the discipline around the turn of the 2000s, without ever giving up the refinements that the VED-DISTRI® signature brings today. The disengageable DUAL-E mode has been built in to give the practitioner a freedom that those earlier devices did not offer: to work by frequency alone, accurately programmed, or to return, if they wish, to verbalisation as practised by previous generations. The hollow arms and the magnetised rod have been faithfully kept, a nod to those for whom the memory of the old gesture remains as precious as the precision of the new.

The Rétro is thus intended for those who, in their practice of dowsing or geobiology, wish to combine technical rigour with respect for heritage, and to rediscover, in the continuation of a century-old gesture, the very source of their art.
