Sodalite owes its name to its sodium content, and its deep blue, veined with white, recalls a night sky crossed by clouds. Long confused with lapis lazuli, it nevertheless has a personality of its own, more sober and meditative. The lithotherapy tradition associates it with the third eye chakra and credits it with an affinity for mental clarity, logic and intuition, making it a sought-after companion for times of study and reflection.
